Did you complete an Education or Nursing Degree after 30th June 2009?

If you answered yes to that question, you may be entitled to a reduction in your HELP debt of up to $1,558.50 per annum.

In the 2009 Budget, the Australian Government announced the extension of the HECS-HELP benefit to students who complete an eligible education or nursing (including midwifery) course of study after 30 June 2009 and start work in an education or nursing (including midwifery) occupation.

Eligible education and nursing (including midwifery) graduates who take up employment in these professions can apply for the HECS-HELP benefit which will reduce their Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) compulsory repayment.

The benefit is available from the 2009–10 income year onwards. The maximum benefit for that year is $1,558.50. The benefit is not a cash payment. It is a benefit to reduce your compulsory HELP repayment. You must meet certain eligibility requirements to receive it.

This is a great opportunity to reduce your HELP Debt, and we are able to assist you with the application for $110 including GST.

Haven’t applied for the 2011 Financial Year yet? Don’t worry, if we act fast we still have until the 30th June this year to get the application in.
